Despite the rain last week, it has been very busy over at Ides Hill Commons. The roof is now on and windows and siding will be following right along for units 21 through 24 – our second building to go up. And if you can believe it, all four of those units are now under contract for September closings. Two car garage models seem to be very popular this year! Now that our framers have completed their work on that building, they have cleared out and so more site work could get finished up as our subcontractors continue to work away inside the units on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, insulation, and walls 🙂 There will definitely be a lot going on over the next month or so!
Though I know a two car garage may always seem like the optimal choice, I have to say, both of our models have distinct and attractive features! Did you note that the one car garage models actually feature more square footage of living space? Our one car garage models offer 1660sf of living verses 1588sf in the two car garage models. And, when entering the one car garage model, it is only a few steps up from the parking area or garage to the main living level verses walking up a full flight of stairs from the garage in the two car models. 
The one car garage models have laundry on the second floor off of the spacious landing outside the bedrooms. The one car garage model also boasts a HUGE basement great for storage, play space, exercise room, or take advantage of the high ceilings and finish it off for future living space. 
Every unit has two additional parking spaces outside – both one car & two car garage models – so there is always still room for three cars to easily park at the one car garage units. I highly recommending exploring both models before deciding which fits your lifestyle the best.
